Who is Jill Sandin?

For more than 30 years Jill Sandin has been building strong and genuine relationships with her clients to the point where she becomes a trusted member of their team. Her strategic approach to identifying, branding, and growing businesses is grounded on a sound foundation of clearly defining the client’s objectives and setting out to accomplish them. To this end, Jill prides herself on understanding that success is not based on guesswork, but rather on knowledge, integrity, and skill.

In February 2021 Jill retired from JS2 PR and started Jill Sandin Culinary Consulting, where she will focus on concept and menu consulting and writing for the food and beverage industry.

As President and Founder of award-winning JS2 PR from August 2001 to February 2021, Jill was a hands-on principal, taking a professional and dedicated interest in guiding the growth of each client. Her expertise in food and wine and her extensive travels brought a lot to the table, but her solid relationships with local, regional and national media, which she spent more than three decades forging, were the hallmark of her success. Over the years, Jill had the privilege of working with such celebrated brands as Cafe Gratitude, Crack Shack, Dog Haus, Echo & Rig, Gracias Madre, Guy Savoy Las Vegas, Omni Hotels, Pasta Sisters, Petrossian West Hollywood, Rao's Las Vegas, Salt & Straw, Simm's Restaurant Group, Soho House, Tender Greens, The Original Farmers Market, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, and countless others.

Jill began her career in public relations as the corporate publicist for Frieda’s, the nation’s leading marketer and distributor of specialty produce and complementary items. After launching her own company, Sandin Communications, in 1992, she joined her former business partner, Jeff Smith, in 1995 and helped build the Los Angeles and San Francisco offices of NY-based PR firm Kratz & Company, which was sold in 2000. During those five years, Jill lent her considerable expertise to brands such as California Pizza Kitchen, Ford's Filling Station, Il Fornaio, Jamba Juice, Mr. Chow, Noah's Bagels, Starbucks, and many others.

Jill holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University and a Masters of Fine Arts from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. She is married to noted wine expert Chris Sandin and has two children, Sam and Ella. She speaks French, loves traveling, hiking, good food, cooking, fine wine, and all things Italian.
